What We Do:

Solid Propulsion starts with the Simulations and Optimization Subteam, which uses simulations software and calculations to perfect our rocket propellant formula. We determine the precise characteristics of the propellant, which consists of Aluminum Powder, Ammonium Perchlorate (APCP) and a binding agent, so that it can be manufactured into rocket motors. This precise formulation has been given a name: “Illini Orange”.
