Successful Test Rocket Reaches Nearly 10,000 ft

(Urbana, IL)  For the first time in program history, the Illinois Space Society (ISS) sees record student interest that is now propelling UIUC forward in the fierce space competition among top ranked universities across the country.  ISS recently launched a test rocket designed and engineered by UIUC students at the Midwest Power event in Princeton, IL.  It was the culmination of years of work, work that persevered through the pandemic.

The test flight surpassed the student team’s own target altitude and reached 9,327 feet, with crystal blue skies as a backdrop.  The entire flight was captured in spectacular video by a camera on board the Endurance rocket.

More details about the Endurance rocket launch can be found in the attached UIUC Grainger College of Engineering article.
